About this specimen
Sichuan garden quartz at 3.8 cm and 23 g; a miniature, priced with the tip disclosed. A clear quartz crystal with a dark green epidote inclusion inside, the garden quartz the supplier names; the supplier notes a slightly damaged tip.
The inclusions in garden quartz are frozen mid-growth, which is why every crystal reads as a small, unrepeatable scene.
Sichuan hosts Xuebaoding, Jinkouhe and Leshan, sources of aquamarine, scheelite, prehnite, gypsum and the epidote-quartz skarn specimens seen here.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 2.4 × 2.2 × 3.8 cm (0.94 × 0.87 × 1.50 in) and 23 g (0.8 oz). Disclosed condition: a slightly damaged tip. The price reflects it and the photographs show the affected area. Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
