About this specimen
Black specular hematite plates radiate in several overlapping groups across a rounded specimen. The long narrow faces form fan-like patterns with bright reflections along their edges. Small pale quartz details appear between parts of the dark growth. The second angle reveals the depth of the layered plates and changes which faces reflect most strongly, showing a dense metallic surface with several distinct centers of outward-spreading black blades. Dimensions: 3.6 × 2.6 × 3.5 cm / 36 × 26 × 35 mm / 1.42 × 1.02 × 1.38 inch. Estimated weight: 28 g / 0.99 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
