About this specimen
A pale yellow calcite rosette with translucent, bladed petals sits on top of a base of brown siderite and dolomite rhombs, with a little white aragonite-like fuzz and brassy pyrite grains in the gaps. Five species in a thumbnail.
Guizhou carbonate pockets give combinations like this; the contrast between the glassy yellow calcite and the matte brown siderite makes it easy to read even at small size.
