About this specimen

Water-clear rather than green, the fluorite here reads like a knot of ice pressed into the rock: five or six crystals interlocked, transparent enough to show the khaki matrix straight through them, with only the faintest green cast where the glass thickens. The host is a drab olive-brown granular rock touched with rusty staining, and that contrast does all the work — nothing else on the piece competes for attention.

Xianghualing in Hunan yields fluorite across a wide colour range, and its colourless material is often the most transparent of all. Colour in fluorite comes from trace elements and radiation-induced defects in the lattice; where those are absent, clarity is what remains. The species is Mohs 4 with perfect cleavage in four directions, and clear crystals show a bruise far more readily than coloured ones.

Small and blocky at 6.4 × 3.8 × 4.3 cm and 120 g, it balances on its own matrix and needs no stand. The pictures were taken of this specimen itself — nothing stock about them.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Is this Fluorite natural?

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
