About this specimen
A single large apophyllite crystal with a pink upper zone over a honey-yellow lower zone, the sandwich colouring, with pearly cleavage faces along the sides and a little calcite at the base. Fluoresces under a UV torch, as the photos show.
Two-tone apophyllite from Fujian is a rarity beside the Indian material; at 158 g this is a substantial single crystal.
