About this specimen
Guangdong pyromorphite at 3.7 cm; a miniature. A crust of yellow-green pyromorphite covers the top of an ochre-brown limonite matrix, the small barrel crystals packed close enough to read as a continuous mossy layer.
Pyromorphite is lead chlorophosphate, forming barrel-shaped hexagonal prisms in green to yellow-green; the Guangxi and Yunnan material is world class.
Guangdong is the source of the red hematoid quartz and green phantom quartz that reached collectors after 2015.
The piece is miniature in size, 3.7 × 3.3 × 2.4 cm (1.46 × 1.30 × 0.94 in). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
