About this specimen
Rainbows do not appear one at a time in this citrine sphere; they arrive in clusters. A band of small glittering inclusions crosses the lower half, and when light strikes it, ring after ring of spectral colour bursts out, gold, violet, green and blue, stacked together like bubbles in sunshine.
Above the band the crystal is wonderfully clear and pale golden, and below it the colour deepens to a warm yellow glow. The polish is excellent, giving clean reflections all round. From Brazil, this is a sphere that changes every time it is moved, a joy under a spotlight or on a sunny windowsill.
