About this specimen
A large Brazilian citrine sphere in its natural, unheated colour: a soft champagne yellow that warms to gold in the lower half when light shines through. It is the gentle tone of natural citrine rather than the orange-brown of heated material.
Inside, fine silky wisps drift through the quartz in sweeping strands, like windblown grass or feathers, with a denser misty band across the middle. A couple of small rainbows sparkle near the edge, and a tiny dark cluster of specks sits low in the ball. It is polished, untreated and clear enough to see deep inside. A video showing the colour in sunlight can be sent.
