About this specimen
Seen side-on, this natural-colour citrine holds a snowy mountain. Fine white rabbit-hair needles rise from the base in a broad, feathery peak, and the clear honey-to-tea coloured citrine above it looks like a dusky sky. A single golden needle crosses one flank, and in bright light a rainbow flashes near the top with a patch of glitter beside it.
Turn the sphere to look down on the summit and the effect changes completely: the needles radiate outward from a dark, many-sided window, like the iris of an eye. It is untreated and polished, with warm golden tones when the sun comes through.
