About this specimen
A single black tourmaline needle runs through the heart of this big pale citrine sphere, and around it sit sparkling, mirror-like flakes that break the light into small rainbows. The effect changes with every turn: from one side the needle stands upright like a little tree, from another it lies flat across a misty horizon.
The body is very pale, closer to champagne than gold, with soft veils that add depth without clouding the view. On the far side a small peach-coloured starburst inclusion adds another point of interest. The sphere is polished Brazilian material and has real weight in the hand, so a sturdy stand is recommended. A video of it rotating is available.
