About this specimen
The inclusion in this natural-colour citrine looks almost deliberate. A crisp white pyramid of feathery rabbit-hair needles rises from the base of the sphere to a sharp point, with the deep olive-gold citrine above it like a night sky over a snowy peak. Inside the pyramid, a scatter of tiny topaz grains glitters gold when light passes through.
A small dark speck sits right at the summit, and from other angles you can see soft white veils and a clear included crystal. In direct light the citrine reads as warm golden yellow; with light behind it, the upper half turns a rich olive. Polished sphere from Brazil.
