About this specimen
Two colours meet in this Brazilian sphere. The upper part is a deep smoky brown, the lower part a warm honey gold, a natural combination often called tea-yellow quartz or smoky citrine. Where they meet, fine white rabbit-hair needles fan upward in a soft, misty shape that resembles a mountain.
A vivid rainbow sits just below the surface on one side, flashing blue, violet, pink and gold, and golden reflective planes glint on another face. In full sunlight the whole sphere turns a fiery orange. It is clear, transparent and fully polished, and the colour has not been altered.
