About this specimen
One colourless fluorite cube, milky at the core and clear along its edges, with a second smaller cube stepped in behind it — that is the whole of this Yaogangxian thumbnail, and it is enough. Held to the light the interior gives up a drift of pinpoint inclusions and a single faint violet bruise of colour, while a nub of tiny white crystals grips the right-hand corner.
Colourless fluorite is not what the mine is known for, which makes this a quietly interesting shelf-mate for the green and purple Yaogangxian pieces most collectors already have. The cube outline comes straight from the isometric structure of CaF2; the violet patch is a colour centre that simply never spread through the rest of the crystal.
Compact at 2.8 × 1.5 × 1.8 cm and 14 g, mounted with white putty on a clear acrylic block. You are looking at the actual cube, presented as it will arrive.
