About this specimen
Colour is the headline here. This Brazilian citrine shows its natural colour, a deep golden yellow that warms to amber where the quartz is thickest and darkens slightly toward the top of the sphere.
Inside, feathery veils and fine internal fractures catch the light and glitter gold, sweeping across one side like brushstrokes. Turn the sphere and several rainbow flashes appear among them, small but vivid. The remaining quartz is transparent, so you can see right through to the hand holding it in most of our photos. The surface is fully polished to a glassy finish.
