About this specimen
Two pale yellow calcite globes stand above a gray, finely textured matrix containing siderite and dolomite. Their broad faces catch the light differently from the smaller white growth at their bases. The larger globe occupies one side of the specimen, while its smaller neighbor sits higher and slightly behind it. Turning the piece reveals the space between the two rounded forms and the sloping matrix that supports them, giving the cluster an open, unevenly balanced profile. Dimensions: 5 × 3.1 × 3.7 cm / 50 × 31 × 37 mm / 1.97 × 1.22 × 1.46 inch. Estimated weight: 46 g / 1.62 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
