About this specimen
The colour of this Brazilian citrine sphere shifts from bright lemon to deep honey depending on the angle, and the quartz is very transparent. Inside, bright white inclusions catch the light like silver: a long diagonal streak of feathery veils on one side and flat, shimmering planes on the other, layered like ice on a pond.
Faint rainbows appear among the veils when light falls across them. The citrine is polished to a glossy finish, and it has a pleasing weight in the hand. A warm, glowing piece for a sunny shelf.
