About this specimen
Hold this freeform up to the sun and the warm tea-brown quartz fills with fine golden rutile, laid down in neat, dense tufts that flash like copper wire. The upper section is cut and polished into a faceted point, while one flank keeps a rough, natural surface where the rutile is packed most thickly.
The colour sits between smoky quartz and citrine: honey at the tip, softer brown toward the base. Clarity is good throughout, so the needles read clearly from several sides rather than through a single window. It is natural Brazilian material, and at this weight it makes a substantial centrepiece for a shelf or desk. A short video shows the needles moving with the light.
