About Peruextended article

What it is known for

Peru's polymetallic deposits in the Andes produce lustrous pyrite in cubic, dodecahedral and complex forms, sphalerite including its iron-rich black variety marmatite, galena, and rhodochrosite, often on quartz. Mines such as Huanzala and Huaron are well known to collectors.

In our collection

Our Peruvian pieces include dodecahedral and cubic pyrite, pyrite with marmatite, galena with sphalerite, kutnohorite with pyrite, and azurite with malachite. Each listing shows the exact specimen photographed. Where the original label names only the country, we label it to country level rather than guess a mine.
