Yaogangxian Fluorite for Sale — 4

Curated by Maggie Liu · 121 specimens available

The Yaogangxian Mine in Yizhang County, Chenzhou, Hunan Province is the modern benchmark for collector fluorite: since the late 1990s it has produced gem-transparent cubes in purples, greens, blues and porcelain whites, often perched on quartz needles or paired with arsenopyrite and muscovite. What sets Yaogangxian pieces apart is the combination of glassy transparency, sharp cubic form, and phantom color zoning inside a single crystal — qualities that only a small share of the mine’s output ever shows together.

When judging a Yaogangxian fluorite, collectors weigh four things: transparency (gemmy beats cloudy), edge condition (the cube edges chip easily in mining, so undamaged edges carry a premium), color saturation and zoning (a defined purple phantom inside a clear cube is the classic look), and the stage — a specimen sitting naturally on sparkling quartz matrix displays far better than a loose cube. Repairs are common in the trade and acceptable when disclosed; we state condition plainly on every listing.

Every specimen below is the exact piece you receive: hand-sourced at the locality by our curator Maggie Liu, individually inspected, and photographed under color-calibrated 5500K daylight. One-of-a-kind — when a piece sells, it is gone.
